The Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination is the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) route for graduates into Group B and Group C posts such as Assistant Section Officer, Inspector and Auditor in central ministries and departments. Tier 1 has 100 questions worth 200 marks in 60 minutes, 25 in each of four sections, with 0.5 marks deducted per wrong answer, and it is qualifying. Rank is decided by Tier 2 Paper 1, where every question is worth 3 marks and a wrong answer costs 1 mark, so mocks for each tier need different scoring.
