The Union Public Service Commission today announced the revised dates to conduct the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2020. The Prelims for UPSC exam 2020 are now scheduled to take place on October 4, 2020. The Commission also released the final dates for the main exam, which is expected to take place on January 8, 2021.

The UPSC exam date for the Preliminary stage was initially scheduled for May 31, 2020. It was then indefinitely postponed in early May on account of the nationwide lockdown due to the ongoing outbreak of novel coronavirus.

With the new dates being announced, students across the country have once again geared up to compete for one of the most sought-after and reputed jobs in the country.

The UPSC prelims will see at least 10 lakh candidates compete to late fight it out in the UPSC mains.

Bonus time for practice

Aspirants have at least four months to prepare for the UPSC Exam 2020 prelims. While many students have had a study routine throughout the lockdown, this extra-time might be a grace period for you to go through the tough topics that you left out due to a shortage of time then. Aspirants need to use this time to practice and take as many mock tests as they can.

Since the lockdown has forced educational establishments to remain shut, online exam software has come to the rescue of students when it comes to taking practice tests. Since many competitive exams in the country had been postponed, institutes providing coaching for NEET, JEE Mains, SSC, and other exams have started providing practice tests online.

Online testing platforms like MegaExams are being used widely by the coaching institutes. They wanted to make sure that the lockdown does not dampen the students’ spirits with regular practice tests.

Practice exams and mock tests via online exam software instill a sense of confidence in you to prepare you for the D-day. As you take regular mock tests, you will see a drastic improvement in your overall performance.

Buckle up to and make the best use of this time to prepare yourself for UPSC exams. Taking frequent mock tests may be your best bet to making it big and the fruit of your labour is going to be worth it!
